Libertyville’s Gay-Straight Alliance hosts Transgender Celebration Day
On Tuesday, Nov. 27, members of LHS’s Gay-Straight Alliance gathered in Ms. Dyan Naslund’s room to pay tribute to and celebrate the lives of those who identify as transgender, which is defined by Merriam Webster as a person whose gender identity differs from the sex the person had or was identified as having at birth. Their celebration was one week after the national Transgender Day of Remembrance, which took place on Nov. 20.
