Step one: a survey goes out to the whole LHS population asking for any song recommendations they might have to offer. Step two: over 100 songs arrive from over 100 people. Step three: these are compiled into a playlist and listened to incessantly. Step four: two-thirds of the songs are culled, leaving 41 to go on the official DOI playlist. Step five: the songs are arranged so that they escalate in tempo and mood from beginning to end, creating the final product.

Not every recommendation that was received could make it onto the final list — songs were removed if they were explicit or already particularly well-known — but all submissions were surveyed to create the graphics and rankings comparing LHS to the global charts. The DOI February Playlist represents suggestions from all students across all grade levels, carefully curated and accessible on Spotify via the QR code above.
