“I enjoy coding. I started programming in third grade with a program called Scratch. After that, I began taking classes on Code Academy in Javascript. In middle school, I was a member of Tech Club where I messed around with Minecraft command blocks and created a Choose-Your-Own adventure game. During freshman year of high school, I joined Coding Cats, which is a laid-back club where we do puzzles and programming. This year, I joined Curie Cats, which is a club for women in STEM, and I joined this because I like STEM and supporting gender equality. Over the summer, I took Computer Science Honors, and I am currently taking AP Computer Science A. I plan to be the first person to take two years of advanced topics, a new course being offered at LHS, which is taught by Miss Elmore who is one of my favorite teachers,” explained sophomore Neil D’Souza.
