The decision to cancel school on Monday, January 27, was made early Sunday. Bitter cold will once again be the culprit as school is cancelled for the third time this month.
The decision was made by District officials because of concern for student safety, according to Ms. Mary Todoric, the District 128 Director of Communications.
According to The Weather Channel, the high is only -3 degrees with a windchill of -30.
All after-school activities are cancelled Monday and a decision regarding school on Tuesday will be made Monday evening. Tuesday’s forecast has a high of 3, according to the weather channel.
There have not been any changes to the end-of-the-year schedule yet, but more school days could be added because of the cancellations, according to Ms. Todoric.
