Orchestras perform winter concert
The Concert Orchestra played three pieces, including “Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, Simple Symphony”, and “Scherzo from Symphony No. 5”.
On March 5, the LHS orchestras performed their annual winter concert. First, the Concert Orchestra, consisting of the freshmen, played, with Ellie Chen as the first violin. String Project, an after-school group that meets for 30 minutes a week, then played a 2010s medley. The Chamber Orchestra performed after them, with cello soloist Samantha Fan playing “Cello Concerto in A. minor. Op. 129” by Robert Schumann. Finally, the Symphony Orchestra performed, playing two pieces by Aaron Copland, along with one written by Beethoven and Mendelssohn.
