There are four local coffee shops in Libertyville, not including the big chains of Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts. Although we are not coffee connoisseurs, coffee has kept us awake for many hours and has cost us a lot of money. As frequenters of local coffee establishments, we joined forces to rate each cafe in Libertyville to find the best roast in town. Each cafe is rated on a 1 to 5 scale based on the atmosphere of the shop, menu variety, price and taste of the drink ordered. The taste ratings are based on our coffee preferences: Jade likes sweeter coffee and prefers her coffee iced, no matter the weather. Liv’s go-to is a chai latte but loves a bold, rich espresso.
