The recruits are given a case of bare essentials and clothes for sleeping the moment they walk through the door of the Great Lakes Naval Base.
Members of the DOI staff visited the Great Lakes Naval Base on September 24th, 2024. While visiting, members were taken on an elaborate tour through the various different parts of the base. We got the privilege of meeting with various RDC’s (Recruit Divisional Commanders) and sitting with the recruits during lunch. During the tour, staff members were able to picture what a day in the life of a Navy recruit was like.
