Political figures are typically seen as people of authority, people of respect and intellect. They range from Senators to the President and other people of great importance to the United States government; however, there is an underbelly to politics but it is not a dark underbelly. It’s actually quite comedic and a great way to make your friends burst their lungs. These memes come in many shapes and sizes, but sometimes they can go a little too far as a joke to making direct fun of someone. It still doesn’t mean that these types of memes in proper moderation cannot brighten your day.
Wide Putin
There was a meme on the Internet which was named “Wide Putin.” The meme is a short Youtube video which consisted of a clip of Vladimir Putin that was cropped in order to make him wide. While “Wide Putin” would walk, a song called “Song by Denise” written by Piano Fantasia would play in the background.
Gaming Presidents
If Wide Putin is a clown, then the presidents of the United States have been transformed into the entire circus. We present a series more famed than Wide Putin: Gaming Presidents. Gaming Presidents was a trend where people would use AI, a picture of Barack Obama/Donald Trump/Joe Biden and a game of choice. The three most recent presidents of the US would play a popular game while roasting and insulting each other.
United Nations vs. UNGOC
This meme is a recurring joke in the SCP (Secure, Contain, Protect) Foundation (an online base) fandom, a place of discussion about the many anomalies or “SCPs” in the universe and also other Groups of Interest (GOIs). The meme goes like this: the United Nations is portrayed as essentially the average crossing guard or something similar that no one listens to. Meanwhile, the UNGOC is portrayed as a destructive higher power that destroys everything it sees. The United Nations Global Occult Coalition is a fictional branch of the United Nations that seeks to protect humanity at all costs by destroying anomalies called “SCPs” through any means necessary, it consists of three branches: Physics Division – The branch that engages in combat and the destruction of anomalous entities
Ptolemy Division – They develop weapons and other equipment to better counter SCPs or “TEs” (Threat Entities) as the GOC calls them.
Psyche Division – They are the diplomatic branch of the GOC, they handle relations with other organizations.
Politics is a serious topic, but anyone can brighten the mood once in a while. The internet is a big place and quite susceptible to taking what is supposed to be a funny joke and accidentally twisting it into an insult to a person or multiple people; any of the memes above can be disrespectful if someone makes a direct comment of the individual(s) that is meant to be funny or taken to the extreme. It is essential to be aware of what someone puts on the internet and to take the joke or content with a grain of salt; people in general need to be more responsible on the internet as there are many people that behave and post jokes irresponsibly. There is nothing wrong with responding showing you are amused at a joke, but it is not okay to compare it to real life with people that have real feelings.
