Get to Know Your Select 16!
Collin Bartsch
Did you expect to be elected on to the court? What was your reaction?
“No, I really didn’t. I’ve only been here two years, and I felt like they were a lot of people that the seniors had known longer, and I thought that they would at least get it over me. I didn’t expect to get it, but I’m thankful. I was surprised and glad. I mean, I think it’s a great opportunity and really fun.”
What will your walkout song be?
“‘Gold’ by Years and Years. I wanted it to be a song that — I mean my video is gonna be weird-funny — so I wanted to at least have a part of my walkout be something that I feel is genuine, and I feel like the song’s very nice.”
Tell us something no one knows about you.
“I think that not a lot of people know I’m from Vernon Hills. I think a lot of people kind of assume I’ve gone here for a while because I kind of know my stuff, but, no I transferred junior year.”
What does your tux look like?
“My suit’s gonna be black, white shirt, the vest and the tie are kind of like a wine color, very garnet.”
Who do you think will win?
“I want to say either Cam or Jordan. Here’s the thing — I want Jordan to win because I know him and I feel like he’s a really genuine person. He’s funny, I don’t think he’s got a bad bone in his body. I think Cam is going to be the one to win because most people know his name. Either Cam or Riley. I think it has to do a lot with being publicly known by the underclassmen, and I feel like being the ‘it’ senior kind of helps with that. And I feel like that’s either Riley because he’s the quarterback or Cam because of Stuco.”
What are your plans for next year?
“Pursuing nursing either at Iowa or Minnesota, I still don’t know. Probably getting a lot of tattoos, and enjoying expanding my horizons.”
What would you like to tell your fans?
“Team Bernie!”
