LHS’s Second Annual Color Run, Care in Color

On Saturday, May 7, LHS Student Council hosted its second annual Care in Color Run, to raise proceeds for the local charity Michael Matters, an organization that offers financial aid to Chicagoland individuals and families with member(s) affected by brain cancer.

Volunteers for Feed My Starving Children pack ingredients such as rice and soy to send to children in Peru. This is one of the jobs that volunteers can do to help Feed My Starving Children besides working in the warehouse or putting labels on food packages. There are five sessions Monday through Saturday, where volunteers can help Feed My Starving Children reach their ultimate goal: getting rid of world hunger.

During the show-stopping number, Under the Sea, Sebastian (Junior Eva Thomas) tries to convince Ariel (Senior Wren Frey) that everything she has everything she needs, "right here, Under the Sea!" Everyone plays an important part in this number: performers, crew and pit orchestra performers. "I like what the actors are doing on stage, and I have a solo in that song, so that's pretty cool," said Junior Eli Cui, a piano player in the orchestral pit.
